Deviation Actions
Description
Many new things were learned in the process of this piece; namely, how to do realistic stone walls, plants and clouds. A myriad of miscellaneous references were used here and there as well (including looking out my window earlier this year for the clouds). Pose was referenced somewhat by this stock image: greenladymonster.deviantart.co… My fondness for surreal and dream-like landscapes kind of came to the fore here as well.
I honestly have nothing else to say about this piece, other than I'm happy, relieved and satisfied that I am done. I'm getting a print of it for my personal collection and then I'm sending it off!
Done on an 11"x14" sheet of natural Strathmore drawing paper with 2H, H, HB, 2B, 4B & 8B graphite pencils, a blending stump and kneaded eraser. I worked very sporadically on this, so I'm not sure how long it took me all told...maybe 80 to 90 hours, possibly more? Character and art is mine, commissioned by
